Khushboo said it is a great honor for me that my first prize for ceramics is on all India level.I thank my inlaws for promoting me in this field. She said I like to paint my ceramics with smoke. I carve linear drawings through the surface of resist slip and resist glaze. The smoke coming out of sawdust stains the surface of fired clay and paints the surface with black smoke. it is this sublle play of smoke which creates the grey, black and white patterns on my fired ceramics depicting the scenes of monsoon clouds and the windy rains of Mumbai making the scenery outside my home glass window appear greyish and blurred.Hence my ceramic work is titled a painting with smoke.
